THE FIRST GATHERING
What a full moon! Am I right? Come and get the news while it's hot and fresh like that delicious piece of fresh-kill you brought home last night! Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this juicy gossip, especially if you didn't happen to catch the drama for yourself!
The five leaders took their places on top of the Great Rock and already there were some new developments from JUST the set-up: did you notice that RiverClan has a brand new leader? The other leaders certainly did! The only leader seemingly determined not to acknowledge her presence was that prickly Teaselstar, but hey, to each their own. As announcements began, things seemed to be going pretty well for the Clans. ThunderClan and ShadowClan certainly have had some kits in the past few seasons, going by their announcements, since they now seem chalkful of apprentices! But with all the death this past winter, doesn't seem like they'd have much to celebrate. Not that it's any of my business! WindClan seems to be doing just fine, and so is SkyClan. Hm, hm, what have I missed?
Oh, only the juiciest part of it all!
Koistar's announcement that Shellstar was murdered definitely turned a few heads and fluffed a few tails, let me tell you. Doestar and Teaselstar immediately took offense, which they probably have a right to do. I mean, who doesn't tell their neighbors that a murderer is on the loose? But then she turns the heat on even further by announcing that RiverClan would like to introduce a new part of the warrior code: that no honorable warrior needs to kill. I mean, sounds reasonable and good and all that, right? Well, Teaselstar didn't seem to think so, and Doestar seemed like she was leaning the same way. Don't even get me started about the tensions that flared between Doestar and Vulturestar afterwards, either!
Our savior Claystar managed to cut the argument off at the head before anything got too terrible, and everyone seemed to head on home in a huff. My goodness! I haven't had that much excitement in so many moons, I hardly know what to do with myself. I should go find a nice batch of catnip and have myself a plump piece of fresh-kill. Hooboy, time to work off some nerves! I wonder what will happen in this upcoming moon?

ROLEPLAY CURRENT EVENTS
With the first Gathering come and gone, it certainly looks as though things might be heating up in the forest. While your leaders and high ranks may come up with events on the fly and decide things as we go, here are a few events that your staff knows will be transpiring within the next two weeks:
☛ For cats of ShadowClan and ThunderClan, please keep an ear out on Discord and Skype for a possible event between your two Clans! What might be happening? 影 Ｍａｐｌｅ 一族 and AѕтяαℓSкιєѕ ✪ will be arranging for this event sometime within the next week. Please don't bother them about it, but be aware that something might be coming up!
☛ Medicine cats! We will be having the "half-moon" medicine cat meeting sometime this upcoming weekend (6/16-6/18), though a time and exact date has yet to be decided. Let us know in the HR chat what date/time would work best for you! We'll be sure to have some dreams and fun interactions planned for you!
☛ Cats of SkyClan, some visitors may be arriving on your territory by the time the next Gathering rolls around! Keep an eye out, hm?
☛ RiverClan and WindClan, there are some strange happenings begin to transpire on your territories. Keep an eye out for announcements from your leaders for when mini-events regarding these happenings will transpire? Will these two Clans have to work together to solve a mystery? Who knows?
All in all, the forest is starting to feel a little tension; whether it's because your character is nervous about the argument at the Gathering, or because other events might be happening, things might be getting dicey! The forest seems to have awakened with a bang, wouldn't you say? Keep in mind that our roleplay is taking place in newleaf right now, so prey and herbs are plentiful in just about every territory!
THIS MOON'S THEME
Fun and games! Even though some tension has sparked, hey, it's newleaf! It's a time of play, lightheartedness, and joy for the Clans as prey returns to the forest and herbs become plentiful again. What's not to enjoy? Besides, the days of innocence and happiness may be shortlived... who knows? Enjoy yourselves while you can! Some fun ideas for roleplaying sessions or mini-events might include:
☛ Nametag-less hide and seek! Maybe some of the younger cats may enjoy this one. Roleplay your characters finding some hiding places and make it even more exciting by turning off nametags and your map!
☛ Pebbleball or whatever your Clan's variation of this game may be. Why not pass around a pebble and chase after it with your friends? Maybe there's even some goals you could make!
☛ Contests and competitions! Prey is coming back to the forest and greenery is returning on the plants around you! With all of these new resources, surely there's some fun and practical contests that you and your Clanmates can think of. Who can bring back the biggest squirrel? Who can climb to the highest branch? Who can hold their breath underwater longer? Who can last in a mudwrestling match for the longest? Who can race from one rock to that tree the fastest?

OOC ANNOUNCEMENTS
One of the biggest out-of-character going on is the continued staff search for Clan-specific and a global helper to join our staff team. Read the details and possibly apply here!
In addition, if you were online for the first Gathering, but have not yet received your badge, please note a staff member on Discord or Skype!
Finally, here's an announcement that we know several folks have been waiting for:
Rogues and loners can now be roleplayed in The Forest Awakens! We vowed that loners could appear after our first week once we had become a little more settled, and we intend to keep that promise! However, there are some rules attached to this, so please pay CLOSE attention:
( 2 ) Keep in mind that, as a loner/rogue character, the plot does not cater to you; therefore, please do not be upset when none of the Clans want you on their territory OOCly, as whether or not you can be on a Clan's territory OOCly or ICly is up to the leaders' discretions. We cannot stress this enough. TFA is a Warriors Clan roleplay, and therefore, the focus is not on all of the rogues and loners out there. If you and your Clan leader have worked out a plot regarding a character you intend to bring in, then by all means, work with it! But please do not expect Clan cats to want to roleplay with a loner all the time, as encounters with loners/rogues is intended to be especially rare and a big deal amongst the Clans!
( 3 ) You may only have ONE loner/rogue character, and they will count as one of the three characters you're permitted to have without special permission. So take them seriously! If you want to save that slot for a future character, do that instead of creating a loner just to kill them off a week later.
( 4 ) Rogues/loners can NOT have been a part of any larger cat groups such as tribes, gangs, etc. unless it has been cleared by the staff first. There are NO exceptions to this rule! Staff's word is the final say in this, unfortunately, as we would like to have control over what's going on in our roleplay's world.
( 5 ) On that note! Kittypets cannot yet be played in TFA. Our reasoning is that there's no Twolegplace close enough to justify kittypets wandering the Clan territories; where Twolegplace sat in the original books is on top of SkyClan's territory. And, uh... SkyClan is there right now. The Twolegs can't have it. 8') However, they'll make an appearance eventually! Just not anytime in the near future.[/ul]
